In 2015, Ms. Latrina Hunter, CEO & President, transferred her over two decades of industry knowledge, abilities and skills to the creation of Dulaney Contracting. LLC (“Dulaney”). Being self-motivated, she structured her vision, mission, goals and objectives for the firm to create a guiding Business Plan to serve the construction, general contracting, construction management, elevator modernization, training, and the ADA health and life safety compliance field. Her organizational and leadership record of high-performance standards, including attention to all aspects of excellent project results allowed her to win commercial contract awards showcasing Dulaney work. Focused now on Federal agency contracting and Federal contracts, she continues to grow the firm with superb references, quality work, integrity in communications and an outstanding reputation as an African American Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), MDOT, WMATA DBE/SBE, MWAA, City of Baltimore.
Ms. Hunter, has been in the construction industry for over twenty years, specializing in the elevator business and health and life safety access projects. Beginning her career with Dover Elevator in 1996 - which was purchased by ThyssenKrupp Elevator - she learned the intricacies of the mechanical and management processes for successful project completion. She then moved to Fujitec America where she held progressively higher levels of duties and responsibilities to master her business acumen and skills as a Salesperson, Account Manager, Sales Manager, Project Manager, Division Superintendent and to Branch Manager for high profile jobs. Her excellent interpersonal and communication skills allowed her to motivate staff teams, manage vendors and subcontractors, direct major project completion and lead marketing efforts. She increased profits and managed day to day operations of the full-service Elevator Company doing over $12M annually. Her projects included preventative maintenance, elevator/escalator installation and modernization projects and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulatory compliance. She oversaw personnel groups including field work and office departments including Sales, Operations, Office Management, Field Service Technicians, Field Foremen, Repair Teams, Violation/Testing Inspectors and Dispatching. Ms. Dulaney was accountable for budgeting, cost control, payroll, general accounting, and full profit and loss. She led the recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and terminating of staff and honed her mentor and leadership capabilities. Additionally, she developed marketing campaigns to increase corporate visibility and branding; analyzed market and competitor data and demographics; defined the target market and capture strategies; managed corporate resources; and, generated revenue through creative sales tactics and building trusted relationships.
